However, over the years some popular engine combinations have emerged. Here are a few proven shortblock combinations that have emerged as rock solid foundations for your next engine project. Purchase as a professionally built shortblock complete with blueprint documentation and complete the final dress (heads, camshaft, intake, etc) yourself, or work with SRS to create a complete engine package that is turn key and ready to perform... the choice is yours!
A rock solid foundation capable of big power output. The backbone of this build is a Dart block that utilizes a 8.2" deck height. An internally balanced crankshaft with H-beam connecting rods and forged pistons are boost or nitrous ready. Various compression ratios and options are available depending on the build specifications.
Q) I plan to run a high rpm combination. Are domed pistons available?
A) Yes, we offer many different piston options to suit your application. Including custom pistons with custom dome profiles to fit your high performance cylinder heads.
Q) How much power will your SBF shortblocks make?
A) Power production of an engine depends greatly on the cylinder head, camshaft, and power adder choice. However, our shortblocks as described above have produced in excess of 600 RWHP on our in-house Superflow Autodyn30 chassis dyno.
Q) Do you have shortblocks in stock, ready to ship?
A) We have been trying to keep complete shortblocks in stock, however, demand has been high and inventory fluctuates. Best to call the shop at 236.422.1180 to check current availability.

This shortblock is an excellent replacement for a tired 350, or a great foundation for a new build. A proven combination of parts offers great value and nice power potential. With a few optional upgrades and the correct top end package, BIG power can be had in NA, boosted, or nitrous assisted form as well. This is a very versatile combination.
Q) Can I safely add a nitrous kit or blower to my SRS shortblock?
A) If you plan to run a power adder on your SRS shortblock, we suggest upgrading to a forged piston at a minimum. Connecting rod and crankshaft upgrades are also available depending on the desired power level.
Q) I already have aluminum heads and intake on my engine. Can we reuse these parts?
A) Yes, just be sure to specify the heads you plan to use and desired compression ratio so the proper pistons can be selected. We also offer in-house cylinder head rebuilding services.
Q) Can you install and tune my new engine?
A) Yes, we have service bays for removal of your original engine and installation of your new engine. We also have a Superflow chassis dyno so that we can properly break-in and tune your new combination.
